Whaea Amira

Kia ora, my name is Whaea Amira and I am excited to be a part of the Western Heights school community this year.  I was born and raised in Rotorua and began my teaching career here at ‘home’ in 2004 before moving to the Waikato where I taught in the junior school for a number of years while raising my own two children, currently aged 16 and 13.  I spent a few years teaching in Australia before returning home in 2018 and taking up a teaching position at a beautiful country school on the Coromandel Peninsula.

I am passionate about education and consider it both a privilege and a pleasure to be a part of a child’s learning journey.  I am looking forward to getting to know the tamariki, staff and wider school community at Western Heights Primary.
